The Mares i3 is a three-window mask — alongside the wide front lens it has two side windows that noticeably widen the lateral field of view. The diver therefore sees far more peripherally than through a classic single or twin lens mask, which helps when navigating along a wall, diving in a group or working with equipment.
The mask uses Tri-Comfort technology: small horizontal ribs between the frame and the skirt in the nose area take up and redistribute the pressure the frame exerts on the silicone, so the mask stays comfortable even on longer dives. The skirt is soft silicone with a double feathered edge, and the strap is X-shaped with quick buckles that are easy to adjust with gloves on. It is a medium volume mask, suitable both for scuba and for snorkelling.
