Shimano Kairiki is a braid woven using the VT construction method, a tight-weave technology that produces a smoother surface and a smaller diameter at the same strength. The fibre used is IZANAS, an ultra-high-strength polyethylene from the Japanese manufacturer Toyobo, known for its exceptional strength-to-diameter ratio.
The colour change along the length allows depth counting without any extra aids, which matters most when jigging and dropping to an exact level. A 300 m spool is enough to fill larger reels, or to fill smaller ones twice.
