The Mustad 92553S in size 4/0 is a larger stainless steel beak hook, intended for fishing with whole or large pieces of bait. The up-turned eye and the snell knot create a connection that does not twist the hook sideways under heavy load, while the reversed point makes hooksets easier despite the greater bait mass that can dampen the strike.
The hook is used for larger species on the bottom, from a boat at anchor and in deeper water, where resistance to permanent salt exposure is required. The stainless version means rigs can be prepared in advance and kept ready without any risk of rust on the point, which is crucial on hooks of this size because any dulling is immediately felt on the hookset. The pack contains 25 pieces.
