The semi-sinking Ragot 40 g bombette sinks very slowly, so the bait stays in the upper part of the water column for a long time. This gives fish more time to approach, which helps when the bite is slow.
The 40 g weight determines both casting range and the rod it is used on — a rod with a higher casting rating. Bombettes are most often combined with soft plastics, a feather or natural bait on a longer leader, because it is the leader length that gives the bait back the freedom of movement the weight takes away.
