The Savage Gear Slap Walker 12.5 cm is a mid-sized floating topwater lure for bass, bluefish, leerfish and other predators that hit prey on the surface. It is worked walk the dog style or skipped, and its flat face slaps the water on every turn, throwing up a splash that fish notice even in choppier sea. In rough conditions a slower retrieve helps the lure grip the surface better.
With its 20 g weight and a body designed for long casts, this size is regarded as one of the longest casting in the range, which pays off when fish feed further out or when casting into a headwind. The dimpled body reduces air drag and scatters light, and a built-in rattle adds an audible signal. It pairs best with a spinning rod rated up to around 30 to 35 g.
