The Yo-Zuri EZ-Bait 80 mm is a Japanese sutte, a light cloth wrapped squid jig shaped like a small baitfish with a single crown of hooks at the tail. It is intended for squid fishing from a boat, where it is tied to a side dropper above a metal jig or sinker, as in the ika metal technique and in multi jig rigs. It has a moderately full body that resembles a small fish, and the rounded shape cuts through the water cleanly on the drop, on the jerk and on the pause.
At the top there is a swivel that prevents dropper twist, the eyes are reflective, and the hook crown is made of wire that bends when snagged and can be bent back into shape. The colour range is wide: luminous (L and BL), keimura colours that react to UV light (KV), pink colours for when fish bite the jig, and the dark red SIR with no glow for deeper water beyond the reach of the lights. The maker places KVMO and KVSB in a condition based colour system: orange for dusk and murky water, blue for clear water where UV light penetrates deeper.
