The Casted Tataki Bito Squid is a 202 cm boat rod with a stated load range of 150-200g and an action tuned for the tataki technique. Tataki is boat squid fishing in which a string of small jigs is dropped to the bottom and lifted with short, rhythmic strokes; the take is almost imperceptible, so the whole technique depends on whether the angler sees the movement at the rod tip.
The blank is ultralight 24T carbon, the guides are Fuji SW antitangle micro with alconite inserts, and the reel seat is a Casted unit. The handle is an EVA split grip with a small foregrip for better balance. The tip is brightly coloured precisely so that movement stays visible in poor light. Besides tataki, the rod is used for squid fishing with oppai jigs, trolling and bolentino.
