Circular speargun band, 16 mm in diameter and 60 cm long, by Picasso. Unlike the paired version, a circular band is a single closed loop that slips over the muzzle, so loading is symmetrical and the force is spread evenly around the barrel. This reduces gun twist on release and helps accuracy.
The 60 cm length suits guns for which that measurement gives correct tension — a band that is too short is over-stretched and fails quickly, one that is too long loses shot power. The band is a consumable part: replace it when it loses elasticity or when cracks appear on the surface. Rinse in fresh water after every dive and store in a dark, cool place.
