This yellow sponge measuring 210 × 110 × 80 mm is the classic large sponge for washing a boat. The bigger format means one pass covers more surface and the sponge holds more water and detergent, so it goes back into the bucket less often — which makes a noticeable difference when washing a whole hull.
The 80 mm thickness gives enough softness for the sponge to follow the curves of the hull without scratching the gelcoat, which also makes it suitable for the final wash once stubborn deposits have already been removed with coarser tools.
