This transparent 20 g sinking bombette combines casting range with the ability to work the middle layer of water. Being transparent, it is less conspicuous in clear water, which is an advantage with wary fish and in calm conditions.
The 20 g weight determines both casting range and the rod it is used on — an ordinary bolognese or spinning rod. Bombettes are most often combined with soft plastics, a feather or natural bait on a longer leader, because it is the leader length that gives the bait back the freedom of movement the weight takes away.
