Engine Anodes
For use in Salt Water
Provides cathodic protection to the engine and ancillaries
Meets or exceeds US Military Specification (MIL-A-18001K)
Installation
The anode must be in direct contact with the metal it is protecting, never paint the anode or the area around the anode.
When should anodes be replaced?
The rate of anode deterioration can vary depending on the mooring area, water salinity, pH value and temperature, potential electrical failure on the ship and the quality of the anodes themselves. High-quality zinc anodes from the company "Anodes and Zincs Rakičević" will meet all your needs.
A good criterion for replacement is when the anode is 70-80% dissolved. We recommend replacing the anodes every year during the service of the ship. In all cases, the deterioration of the anodes should be carefully monitored, along with the condition of the metal parts they protect. On the other hand, anodes can dissolve quickly if they are of poor quality or if an electrical failure occurs.
